One of the yearly breaks that I most look forward to is my Church’s Annual Family Camp. Its a whole week of getaway where we get to listen and understand the word of God whole day long for 5 days straight. It may sound boring to many, but listening and understanding the Bible is one of my greatest interest.
This year’s church camp was held in Marriott Hotel. I didn’t really do any research on the hotel, to me signing up for the camp was necessary. But when I reached the hotel on the first day of the camp, I was overwhelmed.
The whole building, it’s exteriors and interiors looked more like a palace than a hotel!

Alright, frankly this image does not do the building any justice so here’s a picture of the Chateau de Chambord Palace in France. I’ve select the picture representation very carefully to match the grandness and beauty of the Marriott Hotel KL so just take it that it looks something like this or perhaps even warmer and friendlier.

WARNING: This post is going to consist mostly images, so be prepared for a fest for the eyes.
The hotel is about 6 – 7 hours bus ride from Singapore so along the way, we stopped for breakfast and lunch. Without fail and as a tradition, I got 2 slices of Secret Recipe cakes for myself. I got a Fruity cake (new flavor) and a Raspberry Cheesecake.
And as usual, a thief attacked my food and my camera captured the action. Here’s a gif to show the culprit’s face.
Shawn always does this to me – he always steals my food! Great boyfriend for a girlfriend who wants to keep in shape, but I’ld rather have my food. He also has a habit of photo bombing my photos with his ‘twist fingers’ or a tongue. I really should do a collation some day to show you guys *idea*
Very quickly, we reached the hotel and this was what greeted us – Marble floor, Tall Pillars with leaves and lotus details, chairs fit for the prince and princesses and ….

A magestic Grand Staircase. I’ve never never never seen a staircase soooo Grand in my life! Just standing in it’s presence makes me feel like a King ready to lead my people unto greater achievements and success! ( Ok I’ll control my imaginations a little…)

We’ll be coming back to the staircase and the dining area in awhile. Before that, let me show you around the rooms 😉

The Garden leads to the swimming pool area where they also have a baby play pool and a slide – pretty fun looking place! Too bad it’s not a lap pool so I wasn’t that interested in hitting the pool though I brought my swim wear. If I were to take the trouble to change, it better be worth it. A lap pool for me to lap till my body turns jelly is my definition of worth it! Plus, swimming is damaging to the skin and hair you know!

The Grand Staircase is truly the highlight of the hotel. While some of you may find that for practical reasons, climbing up and down the staircase might not be ideal, but no worries, there’s actually a escalator at the side where people with disabilities (or lazy fellows) may choose to use. There are basically 2 dinning areas, the top and the bottom. The 2nd dining area show here is at the top.

During my stay, I brought along my set of Skin Food travel Fresh Apple Pore Care pack given to me by SkinFood with purchase and I simply simply love it! My skin never looked better. Check out the picture of me below taken just 2 days after using this set! NO PHOTOSHOP AT ALL.

And for this last picture of the hotel, I am very very very proud to have sacrificed some sleep and mustered my courage to take this – The main lobby toilet. JUST LOOK HOW GRAND IT IS! I am comparing the toilet to the staircase and both are truly the grandest I’ve ever seen! As the toilet is always well used with lots of ladies around during the day, I had to go down to the lobby toilet at the wee hours of the night just to get my pictures; well, I don’t want people to think I am a peeping tom in disguise!
I’ll be posting up a video of how the room service made my super big bed – It needs 2 people to complete the task! Stay tuned and talk to you soon!
