Regenera Activa Review at Sozo Aesthetic Clinic in Singapore

Qi Yun has always joked about Charizard (my pet mynah) being as bald as its dad – we both have a bald patch right on top! While Charizard seems oblivious to it, I’m trying to fight the male pattern hair loss that is prevalent in my family tree.

I’ve tried putting on hair tonic (containing Minoxidil, a hair growth chemical) to get the reforestation going. Hair tonic does work, and results can only be seen after 6 months. However, it needs to be used daily for best effect, which has been a challenge to me. The effects also fade away when usage of the hair tonic is stopped, which somewhat frustrating.

So when I heard about Sozo Aesthetic Clinic’s Regenera Activa® treatment and was asked if I would like to give it a go, I readily agreed! The treatment involves taking micro-grafts from a small region of the scalp, and injecting it into the areas of hair loss.

Here’s why I agreed to give this treatment a go:

1) Fuss-free solution

All it took is just an hour’s visit to the clinic and it’s done! This definitely beats putting on hair tonic daily and I’ll save DAYS in time over the course of one year.

2) Low side effects/risks:

No oral or topical medication required. In fact, since the micro-grafts are taken from your own scalp, the chance of your body rejecting the treatment is practically zero.

3) Virtually no down-time:

Right after the one-hour treatment, I helped Qi Yun take some OOTDs and went back to work. Life continues as normal! The doctor advised me not to wash my hair for the next 24 hours and avoid activities that would make me perspire for the next 3-5 days. This is easily achievable.

4) Visible results in one month:

It is expected that I’ll see improved thickness of existing hair and growth of new hair over the next 12 months. It’s only been a week since the treatment, so I’m really eager to see the results in another few weeks! Unfortunately I can’t show before/after pictures here due to Singapore medical marketing guidelines, but I’ll definitely be making appearances on Instagram, so heads up (pun intended)!

5) Long lasting results

The latest follow-up research from Europe shows that 1 treatment of Regenera Activa® may have results lasting up to 3 years. Sozo Aesthetics Clinic recommends 1 treatment session a year for maintenance. Either way, I think it’s incredible for a treatment that takes only one hour.

Prior to the treatment session, I felt somewhat apprehensive. After all, it’s not every day that you’ll get a micro-graft taken from your scalp.

My appointment was set at 10.30am on a weekday morning, and Sozo Aesthetics Clinic was located at One Raffles Place, just above Raffles MRT. With rush-hour traffic long gone and the easy clinic access, getting there was a breeze.

After completing some administrative procedures, I met Dr Justin Boey, who did a check on my scalp and explained the process of Regenera Activa®. Dr Boey came across as incredibly friendly and down-to-Earth, which was great because I felt comfortable asking a bunch of questions about the procedure. He specialises in personalised treatments with minimal down-time at Sozo Aesthetics Clinic and has a slew of credentials/achievements that makes me wonder what I’ve been doing with my life.

Needless to say, I felt safe knowing he’s handling the procedure.

A nurse helped to swab my scalp in preparation for the treatment. This helps ensure that my scalp is clean and ready for the next phase.

The next step of the procedure was to inject anaesthesia around the region where the micro-graft was taken. For me, it’s a small area behind my left ear. Three micro-grafts were then taken in a pain-free manner. I didn’t feel a thing and had to rely on Dr Boey to tell me when the micro-grafts were taken.

Next, a special machine is used to prepare the micro-grafts for injection into the areas of hair loss on my scalp. Considering the wide bald area, the injection process was really quick and almost painless (just small needle pricks, and a vibrating tool was used to help distract me from the needle pricks as well).

Once that’s over, the nurse massaged my scalp and placed a small plaster to cover the area where the micro-graft was taken.

And that’s it! The entire process was really smooth and quick, and it surprisingly felt like a non-event, as though I was going out for a meal. The Regenera Activa® treatment by Sozo Aesthetic Clinic’s is one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to both males and females looking for an effective, fuss-free solution to reduce hair loss, increase hair growth, and get thicker and stronger hair.

Regenera Activa Price in Singapore

Compared to other hair loss solutions, such as Hair Transplants (~$10,000 per session) and Herbal hair treatments (from $5000/year), Sozo Aesthetic Clinic’s Regenera Activa® treatment is at a much more cost-effective range of $3,000. Did I mention that it’s also incredibly fuss-free? :p
