Interview with SG Blade Runner

FINALLY!

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!

I have been plagued with an onslaught of various diseases and electronical shutdowns ever since 3 weeks ago after I’ve filmed this interview. First I was down with a horrible flu and fever which zombified me. After  that I was so busy catching up with emails and work that first, my iPad malfunctioned ( My work requires me to be always on the go so I work remotely on my iPad). Then I sought to make my Laptop and Handphone more useful by using them more. Then my Laptop crashed, the graphics card died on me and although I expedited the repair, productive days were gone. Now that I’ve got my laptop back to finally finish up the video, my Handphone died. I think it’s about time my 3 year old handphone retire, but not all at the same time?!

Now I am trying to fight a sore throat that’s threatening to build up. I feel as thought I’ve never recovered.

However, every time I go through incidents and accidents like those, I always remember that there’s someone out there having a worser time than me. I think of Shariff (SG Blade Runner) who has only one foot. I think of Talia who stayed strong and positive throughout her ailment. I think of people who are visually handicap and how it is like to be blind. I think of all the poor starving orphans in third world nations whom I hope to have the true ability to save one day.

Back to the main topic for today’s post, I’ve had the chance to interview Shariff 3 weeks ago and got to hear about his life story and his aspirations. It’s my first interview and I was having a REALLY BAD RUNNING NOSE that day, so forgive me if I sounded/looked terrifying – tried my best, will do better next time!

It tell us how life is unpredictable. From what we hear from mr Shariff , he was born without a proper and healthy life. Despite all odds, he persevered, went through all the hard time and finally after so many year his life finally turn better when he found his biological mother. Despite having a amputed legs, Mr Shariff never give up on his life but instead he strive to work hard by applying for jobs trying to support himself. This truly give me a reason why I should never give up on whatever I do no matter how hard and tough each obstacle it will be. Thank you Mr shariff , you been a role model to me and always will be. All the best to your upcoming marathon

    2. Hi Wei Lun! Congratz for winning! Will be dropping you a email soon!

  4. Shariff is such friendly & chillax dude as always, I remember seeing him at various Races last year. The bloopers here are just as awesome! Lol! Liked, followed, subscribed! 🙂

    My answers:
    1) He was born without a left foot.
    2) A private investigator
    3) The North Face, Singapore

This is perhaps what I brought back the most from Shariff: ‘If I can run marathons, you out there you can run. No excuses. You can do much better.’ As a runner myself, it means a lot, & since I myself had conquered (flat-road) marathons, I’ll put this in another context: If SG Blade Runner can do tough Trail runs and ULTRA-Marathons, I can too. Just stay focused, believe, work it out hard, never give up & make it happen! One day, I shall join Shariff to do the Craze Ultra! 🙂
