Qi Yun and I were honoured to be invited to LG’s launch of their amazing 2016 TV line-up on 6th Apr 2016. A host of TVs were featured – the LG Signature OLED TV, OLED 4K TVs as well as Super UHD TVs.
In this post, I’ll like to talk about the one TV had really had me bowled over! It’s the LG Signature OLED TV. The first thing you’ll notice about the TV is its ultra-sleek panel. Just 2.57mm thick… That’s about the size of 4 credit cards stacked together. Totally love it!
Spotted the TV? (you’re viewing the TV panel from its side)
Couldn’t resist this shot 😀
What distinguishes OLED from other TV technologies is that OLED has the ability to turn each individual pixel on or off- which basically means infinite contrast for your viewing pleasure. That also means you can have ‘absolute’ black on your TV, something conventional TVs can’t achieve. All that power compacted in that thin panel!
One look and you can see that the TV on the right has OLED capabilities.
LG’s overarching principle is to “Eliminate Every Unnecessary Feature”. Staying through to this philosophy, the LG Signature OLED TV boasts the most advance television tech – earning itself Ultra HD Premium seal from UHD Alliance. The UHDA’s Premium Certification is the most trusted identifier of top UHD picture quality, recognizing a TV’s strong capabilities for resolution, HDR, peak luminance, among other criteria.
A Triumph Of Innovation… Beautiful!
Also, exciting news for movie lovers (like myself!). LG Signature OLED TVs are integrated with Dolby Vision. In a nutshell, Dolby Vision brings the ‘Wow!’ factor to your shows. With major players like Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios on board to deliver Dolby Vision content for homes, you’ll be missing all the action without Dolby Vision capabilities on your TV.

If you’re looking for a new TV, do give the LG Signature OLED TV some serious thought. It’s sleek features and amazing visuals gives it an edge over the rest.
