Cambana D’Angkor Suites Siem Reap Review

On our most recent trip to Siem Reap Cambodia, we choose Cambana D’Angkor Suites to be our sanctuary.

Our first impression of the boutique hotel was pretty unassuming. Located in a small alley about 10m away from the main street, the only identifier that helped you locate the hotel was its unique and humongous door. We were confused… just a huge door?

When we opened the door however, we were instantly transported into a whole new world! “Woah” was literally the first word that came out of our mouths. A world of its own, Cambana D’Angkor Suites features great convenience, amazing aesthetics and mouth-watering meals. Here’s why we’re in love with the hotel.

Free airport pickup and tuk tuk drop-offs

Forget about hustling with taxi drivers at the airport. Reaching Siem Reap International Airport, the hotel sent us a shuttle to pick us up. A fuss-free 15minutes away by car, we soon reached Cambana D’Angkor Suites.

Already conveniently located near top city attractions such as the Night Market, King’s Road and Pub Street, the Cambana D’Angkor Suites ups the ante by providing free one-way tuk tuk service to these locations! Just ring the reception about 10 minutes in advance.

Alluring fusion decor

The entire place features a fusion theme – a cross between Angkor Wat and a spa sanctuary. Cambana D’Angkor Suites exudes a splendor that is truly a world of its own.

What I love most about Cambana D’Angkor is their themed rooms. We chose the Presidential Suite with Balcony & Breakfast (USD169 per night), a huge spacious and beautiful room that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway. Majestic yet cosy, the rooms are perfect for a romantic getaway with your loved one. The room is consistent with the Angkor Wat / Spa Sanctuary theme, with beautiful pebbled flooring, luscious king sized bed and beautiful décor. There’s an even private balcony (just before you enter the room) facing the pool and an indoor bathtub! Filled with rose petals and an aromatic oils by the side, the baththub is probably wifey’s favourite piece of furniture in the room!

Lounging by the open pool

The open pool is one of the most defining features of Camaba D’Angkor Suites. Taking up nearly a fifth of the entire hotel first level, the poolside is a favorite lounging area during the hotter and dryer days of the year. Occasionally, we can also find some guests opting to have their breakfast by the poolside. No worries about mosquitoes – we’ve tried and tested the location to be mosquitoes free!

Mouthwatering nourishment

The food here is absolutely delicious! With affordable pricing and probably one of the best-tasting food in Siem Reap, the restaurant is a hidden gem. I would sincerely recommend non-guests to drop by this place for a meal roo, especially if you’ll like a change from the usual restaurants in King’s Road.

Breakfast is ala carte style, with options from International and local cuisine with free-flow drinks/bread. Everything is freshly cooked and served hot, even the bread was warm and tasted super fresh! We usually prefer self-service buffet breakfast so we can feast and save (time and moolah) for lunch, but Camaba D’Angkor Suites beat the former hands down with awe

We only made the decision to have our dinner at the restaurant on the last day of our trip. Being the last day, we decided to go local and ordered had Beef Lok Lok and Khmer Soup. The beef is tender and chewy, with generous servings of meat; the Khmer Soup is both spicy and tangy, with huge portions of ingredients in a large bowl. Both are absolutely delicious, affordable (USD7 each) and definitely must-try. We slurped everything up to the last drop! The restaurant at Cambana D’Angkor Suites is open from 10.30am to 9.30pm.
